Breaking Titanic: Analysing RMS Titanic's Hull Fracture
By Eugene Nesmeyanov
Coming in March 2025 from The History Press
This is the first comprehensive study into the problem of the break-up of RMS Titanic’s hull, something only recognised as having happened from 1985 when the wreck was positively identified, more than 73 years since the loss of the vessel. Expert author Eugene Nesmayanov presents a generalised analysis of the currently available data, using both historical data (eyewitness accounts of passengers and crew members from lifeboats as well as from the surface of the water) and underwater archaeology data (photos and video filming of parts of the ship’s hull along with mapped debris fields), as well as data obtained using computer simulations. The book includes a critical analysis of the most significant theories and models of the break-up, those put forward by experts and amateurs from 1985 to the present day, and known about from the movies, documentaries, papers and publications, and finishing with the author’s own conclusions.

Titanic Legacy: The Captain, the Daughter and the Spy
By Dan E. Parkes
Coming in April 2025 from Amberly Publishing
On 3 July 1930, a maid discovered the dead body of her employer on the floor of the sitting room in an upmarket apartment in Temple, London. The victim was 37-year-old Sidney Russell Cooke, mysteriously shot through the stomach by a hunting rifle. He was the husband of Titanic Captain Edward Smith’s only daughter, Helen, known to friends as 'Mel'. Unknown to many, he was also an MI5 spy, described as a 'prototype James Bond' - and the esteemed Cambridge economist John Maynard Keynes’ lover. Never before published private letters and family photographs tell the true, untold story of a legendary captain, the mysterious death of a British spy and an inspirational daughter who stepped out of the shadow of misfortune to carve her own path. By the time Mel was 49 she had lost her father, mother, husband, son, and daughter, all in unusual circumstances. Yet she would become a pilot, a driver of fast cars, an artist’s muse and collector of fine art, living within a family of suffragettes, politicians, Russian spies, yachtsmen, gay lovers and the fabulously wealthy.

The Six: The Untold Story of the Titanic's Chinese Survivors
By Steven Schwankert
Coming in April 2025 from Pegasus Books
A moving exploration of the origins and fate of the little-known Chinese passengers aboard the Titanic—and how they survived against all odds.
When RMS Titanic sank on a cold night in 1912, barely seven hundred people escaped with their lives. Among them were six Chinese men. Arriving in New York, these six were met with suspicion and slander. Fewer than twenty-four hours later, they were expelled from the country and vanished.
When historian Steven Schwankert first stumbled across the fact that eight Chinese nationals were onboard, of whom all but two survived, he couldn’t believe that there could still be untold personal histories from the Titanic.
Now, at last, their story can be told. The result of meticulous research, a dogged investigation, and interviews with family members, The Six is an epic journey across continents that reveals the full story of these six forgotten survivors. Who were Ah Lam, Chang Chip, Cheong Foo, Fang Lang (or Fong Wing Sun), Lee Bing, and Ling Hee?
Professional mariners, their incredible journeys reveal an overlooked, but all-too-common, experience of inequality and discrimination. The Titanic continues to reveal a multitude of secrets, and the lives of these six men add a layer of humanity and nuance to one of the most storied shipwrecks in history.

The Titanic Files (Vol. 1)
By George Behe
Coming in March 2025 from The History Press
For many years writer and researcher George Behe has made a habit of filing away little tidbits of information about Titanic-related topics that happened to catch his interest, many of which have long been gathering dust in his extensive archives. This book is the result, a collection of stories, angles of research and pieces of trivia on that reflect George’s thoughts on a wide variety of Titanic-related subjects, along with his detailed research, in the process adding new illumination to a few Titanic topics that many researchers have long thought were chiselled in stone. Some of the questions considered may seem controversial to established accounts, but by presenting his research and conclusions, George enables the reader to see the information upon which he has based his opinions and decide for themselves whether they agree. This detailed volume is a treasure trove of research material to delight any discerning Titanic enthusiast.
